About the training

EarnLearn’s Electrical Apprenticeship combines practical workplace experience with structured off-job training, helping apprentices build the skills and knowledge needed for the electrical trade.

The programme combines on-job learning with structured off-job training. Most apprentices complete their training in 3-4 years.

Apprentices work towards the New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Trade (Level 4) – General Electrical [4204]

Off-job training start dates vary by region, depending on provider availability and trainee numbers. Exact start dates will be confirmed closer to the time.
Starting the process now allows your apprentice to secure their spot in the mid-year intake, get started with their on-job training and starting adding value to your business. Our team to keep you updated as information becomes available.

What if there isn’t an intake in my region?

If there is no mid-year intake available in your area, or an intake doesn’t go ahead as planned, alternative training pathways are available.
EarnLearn works with multiple providers across New Zealand. Our team can help determine the best available option for your apprentice’s and business’s needs.

Can I still register interest if I haven’t employed an apprentice yet?

Yes, employers who are considering taking on an apprentice are encouraged to register interest early, even if they haven’t yet found the right candidate.
